This study examines the interplay between freedom of expression, online defamation, and cybersecurity legislation in Bangladesh while evaluating the existing challenges affecting the implementation of the Cyber Security Act. The right to freedom of expression is a fundamental entitlement enshrined in Article 39 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. It is recognised as an essential human right in numerous international human rights treaties. The rapid progression of information and communication technology has expanded opportunities for public discourse through digital media. However, the misuse of cyberspace has led to cyber defamation, misinformation, online harassment, and various other cyber offences.
