Abstract
This research paper critically examines the
legal characterization, strategic use and regulatory challenges surrounding
shell corporations, with a focus on their role in enabling white-collar crimes.
Drawing on statutory frameworks, landmark cases and international standards,
the paper highlights systematic gaps in India’s regulatory landscape,
particularly the absence of a statutory definition, and proposes comprehensive
policy reforms.
