Abstract
The lack of effective international legal instruments in cyberspace has
been heavily debated in theoretical and policymaking discussions, as the
complexity of cyberspace make it impossible for participants to reach
agreements, let alone create agreeable enforceable law. This paper delves into
finding the relevant sources of international law applicable to cyberspace and the
possibilities of encapsulating the complex dimension of the digital domain
within a legal framework by comparing to existing sources and legal regimes and
perusing over future possibilities of a codified law. This paper shall explore
the spheres of customary law and state practice as well as the international
conventions on cybersecurity in an attempt to mark the boundaries of
international law and its jurisdiction over the digital realm.
