Abstract
In the context of the 4.0 revolution,
artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly popular and widely
applied in daily life, production, and business activities. The development of
AI creates expanded opportunities, challenges, and preliminary formulas for the
entire society. AI has excellent potential in pollution control and
environmental protection. However, the application of AI also negatively
impacts the environment when it is not strictly controlled. This article
focuses on clarifying the negative impacts of AI on the environment and the
need for legal regulation as an effective tool to control the negative effects
of AI on the environment.
