Abstract: Indonesia is a country which is rich in culture and tourism. The tourism sector in Indonesia is growing rapidly to become the second largest foreign exchange contributor. In developing tourism in Indonesia, government and community cooperation is needed as well as good policy regulations. The realization of this regulation is proven by the creation of ecotourism policy that isn’t only focused on economic interests but also can preserve the environment around the tourism resource area. In the implementation of ecotourism policy, management of tourist areas are very instrumental in realizing the principle of a policy that aims to balance the economic, social and cultural interests and the environmental conservation.
